About Melanie
During the day (and sometimes at night as well), I am the senior global product manager for data synchronization at GXS, a provider of B2B e-commerce and data synchronization solutions. In this role, I am responsible for hosted applications including GXS Global Product Catalogue and Data Pool Manager for which I determine strategy and product requirements based on market trends, research and customer requests. Along with various cross-functional teams, I ensure that high-quality, feature-rich software releases are rolled out to the GXS customer and prospect communities.
I also am active in the ongoing development of global data synchronization standards and am a frequent speaker at educational seminars and industry tradeshows, and participate in several committees on the topic.
I live in the San Francisco bay area, where the climate is hard to beat. My teenager keeps me extremely busy - I now understand why mothers can’t wait for their sons to have their own driver’s licenses. When teenage angst gets the best of me, I take refuge in my two dogs, who listen without judging, or I grab my iPod and hit the pavement for a good run. Second to blogging about data synchronization, I live for good books and travel.
