Are B2B Standards Haunting You?
These are the ghosts of B2B Standards Past, Present and Future for the high tech industry. They haunt B2B practitioners, shake the bones of your functional staff and curse your bottom line.
For years companies used ANSI X12, otherwise known as EDI, for B2B. The focus was on moving transactional data (documents) between two companies. Initially, it was hard to find other companies that were willing and ready to implement EDI. Over time, though, the more sophisticated, and often larger, companies hopped on board. Still, companies built backlogs of projects that they couldn’t complete as each trading partner wanted something a bit different in terms of the documents or the information in the documents.
